Description

A late 16th century carved oak figure depicting saint James of Compostela, also known as "Saint James the Great".
Saint James it the patron saint of Spain and according to legend, his remains are held in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia.
The figure itself has suffered some loses and wood worm damage ,but is in good condition for its age and has a lovely rich patina.
