A large pair of 16th century panels depicting mythical sea creatures, originating from France.The panels depict a pair of beasts with their beaked like faces and protruding tongues, with serpentine scaly bodies.
The panels have some signs of old wood worm damage and old corner repairs commensurate with age.
They have a a superb dark patination and are a real collectors piece.
