Description

An 18th century oak desk box of superb colour and patination. The box retains its original lock and hasp and has the owners initials carved in the from M.S with the date 1746 and teo chip carved rosettes.

The box would have originally had a small row or drawers along the top of the interior, this has been unfortunately lost a long time ago. This hinges are later replacements, I suspect the originals would have been butterfly hinges. Overall the box is in good condition and would make a lovely addition to any collection.
