17th Century painting, oil on board, by the Dutch artist, Salomon Rombouts (1655-1702) depicting figures in a tree lined landscape. The painting is 26 cm high x 33.5 cm wide and is in a gilt moulded frame, with paper label to the back. The outer measurement of the frame is 38 cm high x 45 cm wide.

Salomon Rombouts, born in Haarlem in 1655, was the son of the painter Gillis Rombouts, and was admitted to the Haarlem Guild in 1678. He also worked in Florence, where he died in 1702.

Salomon Rombouts is represented in collections held by Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Gallerie di Palazzo Leoni Montanari, Vicenza The Louvre, Paris The Wallace Collection, London, Norwich Museum, England and Museum der bildenden Kunste, Leipzig, amongst others.
