An early 18th century Georgian country armchair. It is made of oak, using a pegged construction, with carved shaped arms, a scroll carved cresting rail, and a back splat designed for a comfortable rest. Country chairs of this period have not survived in great numbers, and this one is in excellent condition. Circa 1720
