18th Century Walnut Bureau Bookcase On Stand
Unusual and very decorative mid 18th century George II walnut glazed bureau bookcase on stand in walnut with stringing and a fabulous interior.
Being a bureau on stand, this piece has a much lighter feel with the shaped legs and serpentine frieze along with the walnut.
The glazed bookcase 3 fully adjustable shelves plus the bottom surface offers a good amount of storage or space for display.
The bureau interior has secret compartments, shaped drawers and a working lock and key. The green baize is worn as you can see but I can replace this for you in a baize colour of your choice if you would prefer, so please get in touch for options.
Good solid condition and no problem to arrange delivery for you.
Measuring:
84 1/2 inches or 215 cm high
38 1/2 inches or 98 cm wide
22 1/4 inches or 56.5 cm deep
29 inches or 73.5 cm from the floor to the underside of the writing surface
8 inches or 20 cm internal bookcase depth Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
