A 1950s Mascot musical powder compact that has not been used. This novelty vanity is made in the shape of a handbag. The music plays very well indeed. This is the best musical handbag compact we have found to date. The lid has a fabric inlay which is adorned with tiny sequins. The base is decorated with an engine turned design. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The interior case is decorated with embossed musical notes & the Mascot signature in elegant lettering. The salmon pink puff is signed 'Mascot ASB'.The sifter has a pink velour edge and cream tab. There are no signs of any powder. The black pouch is decorated with golden clover leaves. The mirror has a couple of age related marks which will not spoil the enjoyment of this piece. Measures almost 3" and weighs 133.2 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
