1950s Roirol full hunter pocket watch by Record
A 1950s Roirol full hunter pocket watch by Record.
The watch has a high grade Swiss 15-jewel (3 adjustments) movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Roirol, a name registered by Record Watch Co SA in 1952. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of watches cases who supplied many different companies. This is the better quality 10ct gold plated model which was originally guaranteed to wear for 20 years. There are some fairly small “dings” and marks to the covers, just from years of use.
The front cover is released by pressing the crown down. Inside there is an acrylic lens. Originally the watch probably had a glass lens but these were often replaced with acrylic if they broke as it is a much more durable material.
The signed dial has a couple of small hairline cracks on number 4 but they are not too detrimental at all. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
