19th Century French Empire Style Day Bed or Single Sleigh Bed.
The bed is made with superbly figured Chestnut, both ends are the same with a rounded top rail and an upward curving shaped front rail decorated with carved mouldings
This is an attractive bed, it will take a deep mattress and many cushions, it comes supplied with a set of new bed slats
The bed has the usual signs of wear and being French there are a few worm holes, these have been treated and are now dead
The bed ends are 36” high and 33” wide, the overall length of the bed is 76”.
