19th Century Galvanised Steel Planter


19th Century Galvanised Steel Planter.
This huge antique steel planter was originally used in the basement of a large country home in York. the tank would have had a sealed lid on it and it held acetylene powder and then water dripped on to it to produce acetylene gas, this gas was harnessed to the supply the house above with a very early form of gas lighting.
Now cleverly transformed by Miles into a stunning centre piece, perfect for a courtyard garden or maybe as a turning circle decoration, planted with a huge shrub or tree.
A very unusual time with a decorative cast iron base.
