Acornman Mahogany Library Bookcase Display Cabinet

This is a beautiful library bookcase / display cabinet. Alan Grainger (Acorn man and I believe the apprentice of Mouse man) made it as a bespoke piece for a friend.
The cabinet is a wonderful and you see just how meticulous the maker was. He has made the cabinet just like a Georgian cabinet maker would and the interesting thing is is that this is what a Georgian piece of antique furniture would have looked like new. We only see Georgian furniture after it has aged for 200 years.
The cabinet is made in solid mahogany. As much attention is given to the back with its block panels as to the more obvious parts. The cabinet has a cornice above and stands on bracket feet. Look at the fielded panels on the cupboard doors. Look at the ebony inlay in the escutcheons. The cabinet has astragal glass doors and glass shelves which are adjustable. The cupboard at the bottom is backed in oak with an oak shelf. Every edge is crisp and the brass hinges and bolts inside gleam. You never see modern furniture made to such high standards.
The piece has Alan Grainger's 'acorn' signature carved in to a side panel.
The condition, as you would expect, is excellent.
The cabinet is 72.5 inches high and 33 inches wide and 15 inches deep.
