An antique 1899 silver Waltham pocket watch.
An antique 1899 silver Waltham pocket watch.
The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. ( A winding key is included )The movement is the Export grade which was made in a low quantity of 14000 in total and has the serial number 9373809 which tells us that it was made in 1899. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50.4mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and has Birmingham hallmarks for 1897 with a maker’s mark for Alfred Bedford, the manager of the London branch of Waltham. . The case has light surface marking from use and some mild bruising to the back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece.
The acrylic lens is in nice condition.
The signed white enamel dial is in nice condition.
The watch has gold hands and a blued steel sub seconds hand.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
