Antique 1913 Swiss silver pocket watch and chain
An antique Swiss silver pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is a 1917 inscription for seven years' perfect attendance at Paisley (Burgh) School.
The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for London 1913 with an importer's mark for George Stockwell.
From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.
The case is in good condition, with just an indentation to the back and the odd minor mark.
The lens is in good condition.
The dial is in very nice condition.
The watch comes with a single hallmarked silver chain complete with a 1911 silver boxing medal.
The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
