This beautiful box is fully inlaid on all surfaces including the back. This degree of fine floral decoration is rare and indicates a luxurious top quality piece which this box certainly is. The lid is hinged with two stop hinges which hold the lid upright when opened. The lock and key are original. The front of the box is also hinged allowing it to drop down to give better access to the contents if necessary. This box was originally a ladies glove box but it could now have many other uses. The interior is beautifully veneered in golden satinwood. This piece is in excellent original condition and the intricate floral inlays have a good rich colour and contrast.
