This is an antique copy of The Divine Comedy by Dante (1265 - 1321). An Italian language, bound volume of Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso, edited and published in 1855 from the 14th century original.
An enduring classic - presented here in the original Italian - the Divine Comedy is Dante Alighieri's 14th century narrative poem, completed just before his death in September 1321. Written in vernacular Florentine dialect rather than the traditional Latin, Dante's influential work helped shape the standardised Italian language as it is known today.
Presented in original, lightly timeworn condition, pleasingly intact with minor marks
Hard bound with a textured finish in green and light beige with brown spine detail
Edited in 1855 from a Second Edition published in Dante's hometown of Florence in 1839
Features all three parts of The Divine Comedy, Inferno (Hell), Purgatory and Paradise
Written in Italian across 620 pages, with footnotes at the bottom of many pages
