Antique Edwardian Sovereign Case, Birmingham 1905
This antique Edwardian silver sovereign case features an overall weave design with a blank cartouche to the top.
The sovereign case is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1905, and the makers Lawson, Ward & Gammage Ltd. There is a full set of marks to the case top and a partial set to the other half.
The hallmarks are clear.
Lawson, Ward and Gammage operated from Clerkenwell Road, London.
The sovereign case is 3.2 cm (1.2") in diameter, excluding the suspension ring, by 1.5 cm (.55"). It weighs 17 grams.
All measurements are approximate.
The silver is in very good condition. The case catch works well and the spring mechanism is in good working order. There are some "pocket rash" surface dings commensurate with use.
