Antique French boulle work glove box


Stunning quality antique French boulle work glove box in fine condition and dating from the latter half of the 19th Century
Rectangular box with a gently domed lid.
The intertwined initials CP are engraved into the central brass medallion on top.
The box has a fall front allowing easy access to the contents inside, which presumably would have been a pair of kid leather gloves.
The interior is lined in pink watermark silk.
The top of the brass lock is engraved 'Bassy a Pau'

Condition Condition Very good. The top closes flush on the base. The brass inlay is without losses. The red and brown tortoiseshell inlay is complete with the exception of a small area on the bottom edge of the right end of the box. Lacks a key.
