Antique George III Mahogany Secrétaire Bookcase


A nice George III mahogany secrétaire bookcase dating to c.1780. With a moulded dentil cornice above a pair
of astragal glazed diamond doors enclosing two adjustable shelves. The secrétaire drawer fitted with six short and one long drawer with small brass knobs handles, four shaped pigeon holes and green baize writing surface. The two panelled doors below opening to reveal a cupboard with a shelf, all standing on bracket feet.
With full length brass rails to the door edges and gilt-brass ring handles to the drawer, fitted with locks but with a key for the upper glazed door only. In good condition, sun lightened colour with fading to the drawer, drying lines to sides of top surface and right side of the base, baize with ink mark.
