Antique Mahogany Leather Top Pedestal Desk
A smart and very well made antique mahogany leather top pedestal desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1910 period.
It is of superb quality and has a lovely design, with serpentine shaped edges on all sides. It stands on bracket feet and is nicely finished on the back, so can be used as a free standing item. The drawers have beautiful brass handles, finely hand cut dovetailed joints, and the lower drawers on either side are double depth for file storage. The green leather top has tooled edges and contrasts nicely with the mahogany.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear and age related patina here and there.
The top lifts off and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
Width – 53 inches , 135 cm
Depth – 32 inches , 82 cm
Height – 30 inches , 76 cm
Knee height – 23.5 inches , 60 cm
