Antique silver Limit pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed with the Limit name, Limit were importers of watches into the UK, and they were based in Oldham in Lancashire, UK. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1924, with a case maker’s mark for the English case maker Aaron Dennison. The front and side of the case are in good condition. The hinged case back has some unevenness and the engine turned detail has worn down over the years.
The watch glass has a small mark towards the bottom but otherwise is in lovely condition, as is the signed dial.
The watch comes with a single chain, 33cm long including the T-bar. Each of the links has the silver lion mark. The fob is quite unusual but very handsome with engraved detail to both the front and back. The centre of one side of the fob dips in.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
