Antique Syren half hunter pocket watch.
Antique Syren half hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a nicely jewelled stem-winding movement with snail cam regulator, signed Syren, which is working nicely. Syren was a brand name used by an importer of watches manufactured by Record and Revue (as the one we have here).
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50.7mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition for a 1920s piece.
The front cover has a small central lens surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals. The lens has some scuffing.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.
The double sunk dial is in nice condition and has blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch comes in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
