Antique Waltham half hunter pocket watch
Antique Waltham half hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a 13 jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. A nice quality movement with gilded plates, screw-set jewels and a Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision.
The movement is fully signed and the serial number 7,487,403 dates it back to between 1897 and 1900.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has an inscription, ‘To Leslie, from his Parents, on his 21st Birthday’.
The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14ct gold filled and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, supplier of cases to Waltham UK.
The front cover has a small central lens surrounded by blue enamel filled Roman numerals. The back of the watch has beautifully engraved ornate initials. There are a couple of bruises to the front of the watch but other than that, the case is in nice condition.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.
The glass lens is in good, as is the dial.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
