Beautiful Miniature Painting After Boucher Courtin
This is a delightful, original painting after Francois Boucher in its original high quality gilt bronze ormolu frame dating from around 1860. The painting with signature attribution is in bold gouache colours and depicts a courting couple with sheep and a dog in the foreground with an attractive water feature and riverside setting.
Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a French painter, etcher and draughtsman who famously worked in the Rococo style. He is well renowned for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated painter and decorative artist of the 18th century.
This beautiful painting is one of eight lovely miniatures after Boucher that we currently have listed from the same collection.
This painting measures 16 cms by 13 cms overall with the image being 9 cms by 7 cms.
