Camphorwood Campaign Chest c.1880.

Classic late 19th.c. military officer’s campaign chest c.1880. In solid camphor wood, a fragrant and pest resistant timber which helped protect contents during passage. Further strengthened with brass corners and bindings, with a flush fitting handle to the lid and heavy duty cast iron carry handles to each side. Great character with some old wear and repairs, and a particularly good colour. Cleaned and polished in our workshop.
