Circa 1860, mahogany and satinwood crossbanded Carlton House desk by Gillows of Lancaster. With open brass gallery to the top above a configuration of 8 drawers and 3 cupboards with satinwood inlay. There are a further set of 3 drawers below this, one stamped ‘Gillows Lancaster’ and it all stands on square tapering legs. The desk retains its original handles and leather writing surface.
