A superb antique carved oak chaise longue, attributed to Liberty & Co, c1890's. The chaise is part of an original salon suite with matching arm chairs - see separate listing, Made of oak, intricate carving of stylised tulips to the back, banded turning to back supports, front legs and finials, original brass casters. The suite is newly covered in a Romo velvet fabric (wasabi/black), all original webbing and stuffing retained.

This would originally have been part of a larger, typical late Victorian salon suite comprising two chairs, a sofa or chaise longue and six dining chairs. The complementary arm chairs are available in a separate listing. The stylised tulip carving to the back of the chairs is an identical motif to those on the Liberty & Co Rubens suite chairs of the same era.
