Charles 1st Silver Royalist Badge / Brooch
Charles I, Royalist badge by Thomas Rawlins c.1649 in silver. Obv. bust facing right, draped and with lace collar, legend surrounds, Rev. crowned Royal Arms.
Unusual to find one converted to a brooch and only the 2nd one I have come across.you can see on the reverse where the pin and catch plate were attached.
An old detector find, ware to both sides commensurate with it's age and being in the ground. It is still a interesting and collectable item, size 39mm x 31mm.
