Near Eastern Artifacts
Near Eastern Art refers to works created in Mesopotamia, Anatolia, and the Levant (Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon etc) as well as Iran and Afghanistan, from the 6th millennium BC until the Arab conquest in the 7th century AD. Artefacts from the Near East were made in the cradle of civilization and include items from the earliest civilisations which were in existence thousands of years before the Romans, in countries such as Cyprus, the Holy Land, Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Turkey. This would include major cultures such as: Sumerian, Akkadian, Canaanite, Babylonian, Sassanian, for example.
