Charles II English Oak and Elm Coffer

A mid-17th Century six board coffer with a lovely colour and deep natural patination.
Reeded front rail to the top and thumb nail edge to the stiles. Hand forged and early iron strap hinges and lock plate which appear original.
A coffer of desirably small size, early English oak c. 1660. Made by hand in during the reign of Charles II. the interior is clean, dry and the coffer is practical and useable.
Some evidence of old worm, long since dead, slight depletion to back edge right hand edge of coffer lid but not affecting seal/use. Knocks, wear and dents consistent with great age and careful use.
