Charlotte Mary Cornock oil painting landscape

This is a charming oil painting of clouds scudding across a flat rural landscape of fields with the odd farm building and tree, which is signed and dated by C M Cornock 1909. It appears to be in its original gilt frame which has been partly overpainted.
There are two labels on the reverse: an old one from the frame makers "G W Ryde & Sons, Artists' Colourmen, Western Road, Brighton", and a more recent label with the artist's name and title of the work "Passing Clouds".
Though a listed artist we have not been able to find out much about Charlotte Mary Cornock except that she exhibited between 1919 and 1932. This particular work was offered for sale by Bonhams in their 2004 Modern Picture Sale with an estimate of £300 - £500.
Dimensions: Frame 69.5 cm x 57 cm (27 1/4" x 22 1/2") Oil 53 cm x 40 cm.
Condition: The oil painting is in excellent untouched condition. The frame is also in good condition though the outer part of the moulding appears to have been overpainted in a cream colour. This was obviously carried out many years ago and though the paintwork is a little distressed in places, particularly the bottom centre, the overall appearance is very pleasing. The inner gilded border of the frame is in good condition.
Delivery: This painting can be posted for £15, or delivered by our trusted delivery person for £45 to most places on mainland England and Wales. The latter method is preferable though a little more expensive.
