This is a Chinese camphor wood chest with oriental inlaid scenes. A trunk dating to the Art Deco period of the mid 20th century, circa 1940.

Fabulously decorated with inlaid panel scenes
Delineated with foliate carved perimeter bands
Standing upon carved feet in the form of dogs

The panels displaying figures and incidental landscape
Typical circular catch plate with shaped hasp
Opening to reveal generous storage within and a removable tray
