Here we have a fine George III Oak longcase clock by William Francis of Attleborough Norfolk c1800. As you can see the antique clock case has exceptional colour and patina. There is an arched hood with a peirced fret work broken swan neck pediment and three original brass finials one removed because of ceiling height. There are shaped sides to the top and reeded columns for the outer finials. There is a nicely moulded arched glazed door with architectural pillars to either side. The typical of the period case is finished in carefully chosen Oak to show beautiful Medullary rays. There is also an arch top to the door of the trunk with a moulded edge. The eight day movement is cleaned and serviced and strikes on the hour on a bell. The dial is stunning with a painted anchor to the top and typical of the period exotic shells to the corners plus foliage. A beautiful longcase clock in great condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 86 inches high 19 wide and 9.5 deep.
