Cotswold School light oak two drawer bureau with drop front writing slope with original red leather skiver and pigeon holes. The supporting arms are automatically pushed forward when the top is lowered. Raised on square legs, having a working lock with key and traditional square cut handles held in place with a back wedge. Inside the bureau was found a card stating that this was gifted from Jim Forrester (the founder of Brynmawr antique furniture company) to Mr & Mrs King on their marriage in 1939 and stayed with them until recently. In excellent condition with no damage and has the copper brynmawr disk on the back with the stamp date of 1937. 110cmH x 68cmW x 47cmD Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
