A Cotswold School Modernist, craftsman made, three-drawer writing / side table designed and made by Francis Zanker (1928-2023) Furniture designer, maker and lecturer (Loughborough) in the mid C.20th. Constructed in solid English Walnut with solid ebony drawer pulls with exposed dovetails. This showcases the highest level of craftsmanship combined with modernist design. This writing table came from the estate of the designer and was probably originally used as an exhibition piece.

Provenance: From the estate of Francis Zanker. An original exhibition photograph will be included in the sale. The writing table is labelled verso: Francis O. Zanker, Loughborough.

Condition: Offered in excellent original condition: cleaned and waxed. The table frame is incredibly firm and solid - testament to its design and craftsmanship. All drawers run smoothly.
