DESCRIPTION

Beautifully crafted Doulton Lambeth Stoneware vase by prominent Doulton artist Elizabeth Fisher. An early work of tall baluster form, the vase features incised foliate design that is further enhanced by ornate rosettes and applied beadwork borders in deep treacle brown, cobalt blue and white. A stunning piece!

ELIZABETH FISHER

Elizabeth Fisher worked at the Doulton Lambeth Pottery from 1873 to 1888. Strongly influenced by George Tinworth, her earlier designs used incised foliate scrolls, formalised flower heads and beadwork. She later branched out, often simplifying her designs in line with changing tastes.

CONDITION

Vase is in very good condition commensurate with age, with no chips, cracks or restoration.
