Doulton Lambeth Victorian Teapot, c.1887-1892

This is a delightful late Victorian teapot from Doulton Lambeth in their special Doulton & Slaters Patent series. It has a lace impressed main body with flowers picked out in red on a brown and white ground. The handle and spout are decorated with a bamboo effect and further red highlights. The teapot is 19.5cm from spout to handle and stands 12.2cm high.
The artists mark on the bottom is EA, which is usually for Elizabeth Atkins but it is not quite the same as her regular mark, so I wouldn't want to say it was definitely her work, although she was most certainly working at Doulton at this time.
The other marks include the Doulton Lambeth stamp, the Doulton & Slaters Patent stamp and the "x" number 1815. There is no England stamp so we can confidently date the teapot to the period 1887-1892.
Condition is generally very good with no chips or cracks and it doesn't look as though the teapot has seen much use. There are however three small brown lozenges missing from around the rim of the opening. Please make sure to view all the photos.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post. Please be assured that the teapot will be safely and securely packaged.
Overseas buyers please enquire about shipping costs before making a purchase.
