Good clean early Victorian burr walnut veneered davenport desk of good size. The best of burr walnut veneers used all round with very nice possibly original red leather top. There are four full width drawers concealed behind the side door with original knobs and locks. There is also a pull out small fitted ink drawer to the side which swings round. The davenport has simple carved scroll supports to the front and original carved round feet with internal castors. The top has its original fretted brass gallery. The inside is veneered with the tightest birds-eye maple and has 4 small drawers with the other 2 being dummy drawers. The drawers all have their original turned knobs but one of the dummy one is broken.

The davenport is a good size and as such is easy to sit to. It is a gorgeous rich colour having had the polish recently revived.
