E.D. Monogrammist Still Life Oil Bowl Of Daffodils

We are offering to the market this very attractive Oil Painting on Canvas, which is a breath of spring. It has been signed to the lower left corner by the monogrammist artist with the initials E. D. The painting depicts a glass bowl filled with daffodils and some foliage, which looks very much like ivy, as well as some daffodils leaves. The artist has cleverly highlighted the daffodils at the front of the bowl as though a shaft of sunlight has fallen on them. Somehow daffodils are the harbinger of spring once Christmas is over and it lifts the spirit to see their golden heads nodding in the breeze..
Unfortunately, there is no information on the identity of the artist of his or her location on the back or on the stretcher of the painting, nor, indeed, is the canvas stamped. However, we would date the painting to late 19th or early 20th Century.
The painting has been newly framed in a 2 1/4" ornate, gilt frame and will be supplied fitted with new brass hangers, brass picture wire and completely ready to hang.
Image size: 16 1/2" x 12 1/2" - 41.9cm x 31.75cm
Frame size: 21" x 17" - 53.25cm x 43.15cm
Medium: Oils on canvas
Condition: Very good. The canvas is clean and taut and there is no craquelure and only three small old repairs to the
reverse. There are very slight stretcher marks. The frame is new.
