Edwardian, Fine Rosewood Mahogany Open Bookcase

This is a top quality open bookcase. The bookcase is Edwardian, dating to around 1910. It is top quality and incredibly clean for a piece from this period. The bookcase is made in mahogany. The bookcase has a wonderful inlaid frieze and leading edges. These are inlaid with bands of rosewood and ebony with boxwood stringing to the shelf fronts. There is a shaped apron the the front with cut out feet to the sides in the Arts and Crafts manner.
This was a top quality piece in its day and would have been an incredibly expensive piece and it is in wonderful condition for its age. The shelves are adjustable. The stays are replacements. The mahogany is well polished and the banded front glows.
Good thing.
The bookcase is 44.5 inches high and 42 inches wide and 11 inches deep.
