Interesting oil scene landscape depicting a castle in the distance. The landscape is typical of romantic scenes of the late eighteenth century with rolling Capibility Brown type grounds leading to a castle in the distance. The work is in oil on canvas laid down on board. The painting is framed in Georgian period gilt frame which has a great tired shabby look with some gesso loss. The painting is not signed but this is typical of work of this date. C.1800.
