We are offering for sale this accomplished watercolour by the artist EVELYN JANE RIMINGTON (nee Whyley) who has signed the painting Evelyn J Rimington in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a view of Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, which was built by King Ludwig II overlooking the River Rhine.
EVELYN JANE RIMINGTON (nee Whyley) was a watercolour landscape painter and architect and was married in 1914 to the artist Alexander Rimington RBA ARE, who died in 1918. She exhibited 1897-1939. She was elected Associate Member of the Society of Women Artists in 1904 and created a full Member in 1918. She lived in London and Hampshire. In the 1939 Register, she was listed at the age of 70, as an artist and living in Wallingford, Berkshire. She died in Berkshire in 1958 at the age of 89.
She exhibited 2 paintings at the Royal Academy, 109 at the Society of Women Artists, 2 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, 66 at Walker's Gallery, London, 108 at the Fine Art Society and 1 at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.

Works by this artist rarely come to the market, but there are 18 watercolours listed on artprice.com and 2 on askart.com. It appears that her Continental watercolours achieve prices in the mid hundreds.
The painting is mounted with washlines to complement and is framed in a 1 1/2" swept gilt frame to suit. It is ready to hang.
