Flame Mahogany Chiffonier Bookcase

This is an attractive flame mahogany veneered Victorian Bookcase Chiffonier, circa 1840 - 1860. The bookcase boasts a protruding canopy above a three bar glazed bookcase top which houses three adjustable shelves. The base has two drawers lined with the original blue paper. The doors to the base have inset moulded panels with carved corners. The inside of the base has one shelf. The whole piece sits on a mahogany plinth. The sides of the bookcase are mahogany. The back boards are pine as one would expect in such a piece. The bookcase separates into two halves for easy transportation.
PriceDelivery to any address in mainland England & Wales is £80.

Condition There are a few minor chips and scratches to the frame but nothing that is significant – there is a small chip to the cornice in centre and at the back right hand side. The veneer is lifting slightly on the left side near the middle hinge to the glass door. There is a slight split on the right side of the base but these have closed - this is common in furniture of this age and does not warrant it being restored. The bottom of one drawer has a slight. There are several light marks on the front base and plinth (see photos). There is no key. The wear and tear observed in this condition reports is common for a piece of furniture that is over 150 years old and does not present anything significant.
