Flame mahogany grandfather / longcase clock. This is a lovely example of a painted face, 8 day grandfather antique clock by william buxton, bishop auckland. The trunk is a beautiful flame mahogany, with satinwood inlaid canted corners and wonderful marquetry crossbanded inlay detail to the door and base. The hood has swan neck pediment and turned columns, the face, with seconds hand and calendar, is painted with picture of a small child with a dog and floral insets to the corners of the dial. In full working order, this really is a most handsome clock and the photographs just do not do justice to the stunning case. Please contact us for further details.
