A rare to find in the UK Freisland chair clock a real piece of folk art. Quite obviously of a good age but not that easy to age accurately as they were never signed by the maker. 30 hour birdcage movement made of brass with verge escapement. A nice Dutch scene painted on the face, decorative work mounted on the hood and around the face made from cast lead and then hand painted. Hand painted all over the case with 2 mermaids molded into the back plate. Very large and very stunning but a bit of a marmite you either love them or hate them. This is quite a large version measuring

Works fine we are just regulating it now, come along and have a look, we prefer it to be collected We have been dealing in antiques for over 4o years and gained a vast amount of knowledge. We carry out research for most of our items giving our customers some history to their purchases.
We welcome collections especially clocks because of their delicate nature, however delivery can always be arranged.
