Antique French 19th Century Lacquered Desk Writing Table / c.1880 Ormolu Detail
Circa 1880
The most wonderful late 19th century French lacquered desk.
With ormolu style detailing and Wedgwood jasper ware style neoclassical inlaid panels.
The raised superstructure on the desk top features two cupboard spaces and central mirrored back shelf area.
One large underside storage drawer.
Stunning gilt decoration all over.
H band style cross banded support.
110cm X 57.5cm
Height 138.5cm
Desk top height 74cm
Height to underside of desk 62cm
Condition - Good.
One honest repair to the desktop and a few small chips (see last two images)
Stable with no wobbles and perfectly useable for many years to come.
Mirror free from cracks or chips.
Light scuffs and knocks all over.
Minor loss to some of the metal hardware in places.
Splits in two sections for easier movement around the home.
