Absolutely gorgeous large late 19th century French majolica asparagus cradle serving dish by Creil & Montereau. Beautifully modelled with a large twin-handled tray base with textured leaves painted in green, aqua and brown, and a raised curved cradle of moulded cream asparagus spears painted in blue-lilac and orange brown. Super piece for "the season" but also so pretty, it could easily be used as a fruit bowl, for magazines or post or displaying flowers the rest of the time. The piece is unmarked as far as I can tell but a well documented model by Creil & Montereau

It measures 15" (38cm) long, 12" (30.5cm) wide and 4" (10cm) high. Condition is excellent. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
