George 111 Mahogany Kneehole Desk

A George 111 mahogany kneehole desk of nine drawers.Maroon and gilt leather writing surface within crossbanding.Drawers fully oak lined.Central cupboard with shelf.Replaced cast brass lion maskhead handles.Integral casters.

The back of the desk is veneered to resemble a pair of doors so therefore the desk can be used in the centre of a room.
Circa 1790- 1800
An ivorine plaque(see photo) states that this desk was once sold by Gill and Reigate of Oxford St. who were antique dealers much favoured by George V and Queen Mary.
In good condition.Drawers run well and evenly.Some very old shrinkage splits to be expected.
You may return a purchase within 14 days for a refund if you are not happy with it,but you will have to pay the full cost of return postage/carriage.The item must be returned undamaged.
