This handsome early corner cabinet is a very elegant piece with a classic architectural broken arch pediment dating it to the George III period, circa 1780. The door has its original decorative escutcheon with a working lock and key. The handle below is a later addition. The single glazed door has astragal bars and nice sunburst inlaid detail in satin walnut. The cabinet is in fine original order with a wonderful colour and patination. The cabinet is in solid oak with mahogany veneered bandings to the outer edges and original solid pine back. The interior has heart shaped shelves and is lined in the original charcoal grey crushed velvet. The cabinet measures 32" high 23" wide by 16" deep at either side.
