George V, English Hammered Silver Basket
A very good quality, English Sterling Silver, swing handled, Sugar Basket made by Stokes and Ireland of Great Hampton Street, Birmingham.
It has a very nice, hammered silver finish and is complete with blue glass liner.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "S&I" for Stokes & Ireland Ltd (William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland), the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Chester town mark and date letter "L" for 1936/37.
