Circa 1900, Georgian-style, freestanding pedestal mahogany writing desk, bearing a label “A Gardner & Sons Glasgow”. The rectangular top has a tooled, tan leather writing surface within figured mahogany cross banding and with fluted edges over 2 short, and 3 long cock beaded, mahogany-lined frieze drawers, with brass swan-neck handles. These are supported on banks of 3 conforming graduated drawers over French bracket feet, and with panelled sides and freestanding back.
